Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) has announced the beginning of JPSC Recruitment 2023for 342 vacancies of various posts namely Deputy Commissioner, Deputy Superintendent of Police, State Tax Officer, Superintendent of Prisoners, Jharkhand Education Service Category II, District Magistrate, Assistant Registrar, Superintendent of Labour, Probation Officer, and Inspector posts.

Selection Process

A candidate who applies for the Jharkhand Public Service Commission has to go through three stages.

  • Preliminary Examination
  • Mains Examination
  • Interview

Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification- A candidate must hold a graduation degree from any recognized universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institution.
  • Age Limit- The age limit set by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission is from 21 to 35 years. And age relaxation would be done according to the government rules.

Syllabus & Exam Pattern

  • Negative Marking- Yes, there is negative marking in Paper I and Paper II of the preliminary examination of the JPSC 2023. For every wrong answer 1/3rd marks would be deducted and no marks would be deducted for any unanswered question.
  • Time Duration- The paper I and Paper II are conducted in duration of 2 hours. And for all the six papers of the Mains examination each paper is granted 3 hours.
  • No. of Questions- Paper I and Paper II of the Preliminary examination will 200 questions in each paper.
  • Type of Questions- Paper I and Paper II of the Preliminary examination will be objective  type multiple-choice questions. and the Mains Examination is descriptive in nature.
  • Mode of Exam- Preliminary examination is conducted in offline mode. and the Mains Examination is conducted in writing.
  • Qualifying Marks- The minimum marks for qualifying the prelims exam for general category is 40%, SC/ST and Females is 32%, Backward classes is 36.5%, Economically Backward classes is 34% and Economically Weaker Section is 40% and for Primitive Tribal group is 30%.

Medical Examination: - A candidate should be physically and mentally healthy.

For the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police and District Commander

  • Candidate should have no diseases of bones and joints in the body.
  • There should be no previous history of mental disorder or seizures.
  • Candidate should not have any functional or organic disease related to heart or blood vessels and the blood pressure should be normal.
  • Candidate should not suffer from any physical disability.
  • Candidate should not suffer from a claw hand.
  • Candidate should be HIV free.
  •  The vision of the male candidate should be 6/6 distance vision in each eye without spectacles.
  • Candidate should not suffer from colour blindness and night blindness.
  • At routine checkups the candidate should have normal limits of ECG and EEG.
  •  The hearing ability of the candidate should be normal.
  • Any kind of skin disease would result into the rejection of the candidature.
